Where It All Started...
In high school, I was recruited into our school's newspaper, The Pony Express. Over my four years of writing for the paper, I found my passion for journalism and storytelling. I had multiple stories featured in our local newspaper, the DeSoto Times-Tribune.
During my senior year of high school, I became Editor-in-Chief of our school newspaper and I joined Mustang Television, my school's broadcast program. Throughout that semester, I fell in love with being on camera. I paired these passions with my lifelong love for weather and science, and a broadcast meteorologist was soon in the making.
Through my experiences with both newspaper and broadcasting, I was named an All-Mississippi High School Journalist by the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association in 2019, which is still one of my proudest achievements.
Here are some (at times, embarrassing) clips of me on air back in 2018, and a photo of 17-year-old me with our school paper.
